The Culture of Peace responds to
the question of how and why do so many atheists and secular people
work for peace and justice in the world. The Culture of Peace cultivates
and nurtures those cultural and social characteristics that transcend
religion and spirituality. Thus, the understanding of human nature,
science, and customs are key tools in comprehensive peacemaking.
Likewise, cultural institutions (family, symbols, politics, economics,
recreation, and education) are important sources of wisdom and have
an important role to play.
