Since 1999, the Coordinadora has awarded micro-loans to more than 200 low income families in the Bajo Lempa region.

These credits help cooperatives improve their shrimp farming, and help farming families grow diversified organic crops and install irrigation systems.

As loans are repaid, those same funds are loaned to other producers in the community.  That way, the same project money will continue benefiting the community year after year.
